Tuesday June 16, 2009 Electric Marina, St. Petersburg, FL Jeff and I want to express our heart-felt appreciate to all of
you who came to see us off.
Nancy doing interviews for Fox 13 and WSPF-38.
TV cameras record the moment as Mayor Rick Baker gives us a good shove just before 10am
We motor silently away to the applause of the crowd.
The Green Armada was also there to see us off.
The TV crews shot video from the other Endeavour Electric as the Kayak Brigade followed.
Conditions were perfect as we silently headed down Tampa Bay.
The North end Tampa Bay was idyllic with calm favorable current while seeing spotted eagle rays and a loggerhead turtle and of course dolphins, all who love our electric boats for not polluting their waterfront homes.
An Endeavour 44 full of enthusiastic fans followed us out past the Pier taking photos.
Two Endeavour TrawlerCats (40 and 44) escorted us out into Tampa Bay
Going under the Sunshine Skyway Bridge is always a thrill.
Shortly after we passed the Skyway the waters became a little rough, but of course - no problems for the Endeavour Electric Hybrid with its lifeboat hull! Sarasota Bay was even more rough but not a drop of rain, however, the rain in Tampa canceled plans for Fox 13's Sky FOX to leave the airport and do a fly over of us. We arrived at Marina Jacks in Sarasota (who offered us a substantial discount on our slip) after our 38 mile trip which took us 7 hours and 45 minutes.
